It's now been 11 years since season 6 of The Simpsons aired on television, no one really knows why it takes so long for The Simpsons crew to release them (some say it's due to syndication rights) but in a few months we will be able to purchase the DVD box set for said season. I have the first five and look forward to adding this one to my collection (even if the 'Collectors Edition' packaging is a bit silly).

Today is my last full Friday at P (who works on their last day, seriously?!). I almost feel guilty that I am looking forward to my new workplace. My previous employer made me redundant and I felt relieved, I had been interested in leaving but felt I would have let them down since they put me through my apprenticeship. So while they felt bad for having to let me go, I felt good because it gave me the freedom to look for a new place. The difference now is that I was recruited for the new job and decided to take it, so I'll be leaving P and putting them in a hard spot... I know I shouldn't feel guilty because it is my decision to make, I just can't help it :)
I have been gifted a Flickr Pro account by Nellie/Chris. Thanks heaps guys, watch this space for more to come...
I think it's safe to post this now.
Early May I was contacted about a job position at a company I'll call T, through a former colleague. It has absolutely nothing to do with what I have been doing since I left school, but what it did offer was the opportunity to work in a global company that encourages growth and learning (oh and a car and phone). I was invited to an informal coffee where my employer could get to know me better. On that day I received a call, I was shocked when it wasn't T but my production manager from my previous work. He is working in Malaysia for a worldwide prepress company I'll call S, who have recently bought a company with a location in Sydney. With global contracts, they found them selves needing to grow to meet the increased flow of work. It's the perfect job for my skill-set and training.
After running through both companies, what the pros and cons of each role was (at T I would've been away from home ~20% of the time, at S there is less growth potential) I was stuck. They are both attractive roles but for totally different reasons. To make matters worse, they both offered me jobs (it's nice to feel wanted). After much deliberation, I made the decision to go with the 'safe bet' and stay in my industry (so that means S ;).
So tomorrow (Monday), I hand in my letter of notice (my first ever!) and prepare myself to start work in North Ryde!
I am so sorry to let some of you down that thought it might be our second child on the way... that's going to be a little further down the track :p
