The Mothers Group 1st Birthday Party was today at Wahroonga Park, fun was had by all (around 30 or so people all up).
Inspired by Tim's photo of himself some 9 years ago, I have uploaded some old pics...
oh... and there are two of Charlotte walking ;)
It's my turn to reciprocate the 'coolness' which Tim allocates me on his Blog. If you haven't seen his latest batch of photos, your missing something special. His talent in recent times has grown exponentially, here is just one example of that talent ("nothing funny, I just like talent"). If you click on the image it will take you to his main Flickr photo page!
It has been a while since there has been a pic of Charlotte and Wayne has been crying for more photos, so here you go ;)
The other weekend at Wahroonga Park

Some people like this pic (just uploaded it to Flickr if you want to see a larger version)

Not sure if I mentioned it but during the Easter weekend Charlotte cut her first tooth, now we have a second one just one week later.
Click on the pic below to see a larger version.
Didn't like the last pic of Toby-Wan? How about this Wan:
In other news Kristin bought me The Simpsons: Season 5 DVD box set. It's great and I've been watching all the commentaries (I only have one more disk to go!). I have also got my hot little hands on tickets to the midnight screening of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith at Hornsby (18th May), PLUS I picked up the novel of the movie on the weekend :)
Two weeks ago Kristin, her mother and Charlotte had photos taken by Tim at the Botanical Gardens for Valerie's 50th birthday present. Here is one of the pics... I cropped out the other two ;) sorry guys!!
A few photos take the other day. As always, click on the pics to see larger.
She can get herself onto her knees but doesn't push up off them, she just sits there

I'm going to save space on my Flickr account and just point you to Wayne's photo site to see the rest of the wedding photos. He has a few already uploaded and should be uploading another 200 (seriously!) of Tim's soon (I'll let you know when they are up).
Just click on this image and it will take you to the Wedding pics:

It's been a day or two without photos, so here are some:
Here we have Jack, Charlotte and Tom, the boys are the kids of people we have stayed in contact with from our antenatal class.
Charlotte in Nicola's rocking chair that we are looking after while she is living in Reims, France for a year.
If you have a few minutes up your sleeve, you could head on over to my Brother-in-Law Wayne's photo website.
He is still on a whirlwind tour of Europe & Paraguay and will be back early Feb. Check out his collection of photos (almost all with descriptions!!) of Paris, Finland, Iceland, Copenhagen, Germany and the Czech Republic (Prague).
Also found at his site is Christmas, Easter in the Hunter, Charlotte's Baptism and even Charlotte's birth day.
Enjoy ;)
I really find it hard to come up with a title when my posts are going to be about nothing in particular...
Here goes:
First pic is of my feet in the swimming pool (pic of me in my street to come this week)

The first meeting and photo op for Charlotte's Godparents Nicola & Tim

This is just a fun one of Charlotte & I. Now where or where does she get her eyes from ;)

Thanks go out to my parents for the bed linen for the spare room, we hope that you guys enjoy it as much as we like it (which is a lot).

This past New Years Eve, the Sydney Harbour Bridge's 'Signature' was a big Disco Ball thingy that has spinny things on it... go figure.

I got bored the other week so I took this pic of the inside of one of the 'new' Millennium trains

To celebrate the first day of the year (well okay, we had been meaning to take her in but it was never the right time) we took Charlotte for her first swim. This was a little bigger than her usual bath but after she got used to the quite freezing cold (despite the hot day) water, she lapped it up, not as much as she enjoys baths but it was fun nonetheless.
This year would have to have been one of the most enjoyable Christmas/Boxing Day's in recent memory for me. The one big downer was that my big bro Tim wasn't there to celebrate with us (oh, and the whole tsunami thing as well).
Christmas was here in Sydney with Kristin's family. We opened pressies in the morning, had ham and seafood as far as the eye could see for lunch and just sat around, watched The Castle and played the 20th anniversary edition of Trivial Pursuit.
Charlotte and her first present from Santa

Amy & Andrew and the rest of my family were at the Garton's new place down the road from my parents in Broke. Here's a wonderful pic of A&A

Boxing Day saw us travel up to Broke. We had a good run as far as traffic was concerned and were there in enough time to get a family photo taken of the whole clan, sans Tim :(

Lunch was the usual feast of ribs, hams, salads and all that jazz

A few good games of UNO were had before lunch. I bought UNO a few months ago knowing it would come in handy at some stage

After lunch we got down to business with a good game of cricket down in the 'Glade'. Dad even mowed the pitch

The ladies assumed their position under the shade up on the hill to watch the game

Not all of the ladies watched. Here Liz smashes one for 6 into the vineyard

Charlotte upstages Zoolander with her very own Magnum... or is it Blue Steel?

I seem to think they do :)
Last weekend Kristin, Charlotte and I went to a fantastic Spanish restaurant in the city called Encasa. It was a Christmas dinner with some of Kristin's friends and a good time was had by all, even Charlotte as you can gauge by this picture. She did get a little drunk though and we had to go home early.

The Heaps (Amy, Andrew, Joss, Toby & Bethany) came to stay for a few nights earlier this week. We had heaps of fun... when I wasn't at work that is. Amy & the gang managed to catch up with a few old friends etc and we all got a chance to have a nice Christmas celebration together.
Here is a nice shot of most of the Tin Lids:

Bethany & Charlotte. "I can't believe you wore the same thing as me!!"

Joss & Toby having their first spa bath!!

Because we have so excellently planned it (*sarcasm alert*), the Heaps of Wagga Wagga and the Goldfinches of Sydney, won't be spending Christmas together this year, so we took the opportunity to exchange gift and have a nice dinner (with gerard & Briar as well for the dinner)

I have two old photos to show you on my new blog.
They were taken in October, 2000 when we took a family trip (mum & dad, Tim and Kristin & I) to Melbourne for a few days. It was my first trip to Melbourne and I had a great time.
This one was taken in the Melbourne Central Shopping Complex which is located above Melbourne's Central Station. The brick structure is the Shot Tower, a tower built in 1889 to test guns in (I think by shooting down from the top?!). The other objects you can see are a hot-air balloon and a Wright Brothers style plane suspended from the 55 story steel and glass dome.

We were having a coffee in one of the many nice cafés located down the cute alleys when this sign caught my attention, I just thought it looked funky (and the plant as well).
Okay, I'm sorry but I didn't get around to writing up about what the pics were in the previous post. I'll make up for it (I hope) by filling you in a little with what has gone on, is going on, and post two more pics from the wedding.
It's been a busy couple of weeks as we prepare to move (yet again) this Saturday (4/12). We will be moving to Lindfield which will make it a shorter trip for Kristin into the city when she starts work in January, but it will ad about 15 mins to my trip... oh well, we all love getting up at 5am for work!!
We had a few of Kristin's friend over on Saturday night to celebrate her birthday that was a week ago. It was a nice night with Gerard & Briar joining in the fun as well. Our last guest didn't leave 'til 2:30am so I got my second wind and watched the Wallabies beat the English for the second time since losing to them in the World Cup final.
This photo will give you a better view of the Brides dress as she walks down the isle with her mother who gave her away.
Everyone together now "Awwww..."
At the reception, we all danced up a storm. It did seem that the 'oldies' were showing us a thing or two though. Seen here, Mel's Pop rips up the dance floor with Mal's (and my) Granny.
Here are some pictures from the weekend. I'll edit this post and add comments to them later in the week.

A nice day today. We took a stroll down to a local reserve. It did end up being a little too breezy for our liking but we still managed to take a pic or two
We decided that a trip to the shops to window shop for Kristin's birthday and get a spot of Chrissy shopping done. While there, there was a photo stand that gives you a portrait for $7, with your best photo going into a competition to receive some free portraits. I took this 'behind the scenes' photo.
Inspired by this sitting, we took it upon ourselves to capture our own Glamour Shots
101 things to do with your child... well... okay, things I do :)
Charlotte has been making little chomping/chewing motions with her mouth, without anything in it. We thought, seeing as it's been four months, that we would give her some Farex. As you can see by her expression, she wasn't quite too sure what to make of it.

What a cheeky little thing!! Rolling around as she does.

I should tell the stories behind some of these pics...
One thing they say you should do for your baby is give them "Tummy Time". In this day and age where SIDs is a well know cause of death for young babies, we try as much as we can to reduce the risk of it happening. One way to do this is to keep the cot bare of objects that could suffocate the baby, toys et al. Another is to keep the baby on its back as much as you can, because of this, the babies necks don't strengthen well. A way to increase the neck muscles is to lay (and supervise) the baby on its tummy. While not all tummy time is spent on dads tummy, she does seem to enjoy it (not sure if it's due to the soft nature of my tummy...).

We have started to give Charlotte a little top up of formula. She is also starting to pick things up and bring them to her mouth. Now she may not have held the bottle for long, but I think it's impressive.

Kristin heard Charlotte chattering away like crazy the other day. She thought it would be wise to see what was making our little chicken so vocal. Upon entry Kristin was greeted with the sight of two little pink legs hanging out of the cot. Not seeming to care at all (or not even knowing more like it), Charlotte was happy enough to keep mumbling through her two fists. I wonder if she could beat me by getting both fists in her mouth at the same time...
